Ecology
The Ecology of Oak Tree Gardens is an important focus for us on our ‘Open Space Land’ for all to enjoy now and in the future.
Our Remit:
- To oversee ecological preservation, biodiversity goals, and green space maintenance.
- To develop and implement environmental strategies (e.g. protecting the newt habitat, tree & shrub planting, Wildflower areas, Balance pond management).
- To liaise with ecological consultants or local authorities as required.
- To educate and engage with residents on sustainability and conservation efforts.
- To ensure compliance with ecological covenants or planning obligations (S106 agreements).
Specifics in respect before the Land Transfer:
- Baseline Ecological Audit: Working with LSH to get an up-to-date ecological status report of the estate (especially if there are protected habitats, wildflower areas, and ponds).
- Monitoring of Covenants: Ensures that Developer obligations on green space delivery or mitigation areas have been fulfilled before handover/transfer is complete.
